When going on the Pritkin plan, finding a diet recipe will not be all that hard since you have a wide variety of food choices to choose from.

The diet recipe ingredients to focus on that will make up the base include potatoes, rice and yams. Added to this are legumes, chicken or fish for protein and then vegetables to round out the meal.

Try and incorporate as much seasonal produce as you can into the plan, as this will really go a long way to helping liven up your dishes and prevent boredom from occurring while eating in this style.

Below is a rice diet recipe that would nicely fit this program.

Black Beans And White Rice

1 large onion, chopped
1 cup chopped mushrooms
1 cup chopped broccoli
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 (14.5 oz) can stewed tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, undrained
? tsp dried oregano
? tsp garlic powder
1 cup white rice

In a large saucepan, first cook the onion and mushrooms in the oil until tender. Once this is completed add in the tomatoes, beans, oregano and garlic powder and bring to a boil. Once boiling stir in the rice and then bring to a boil once again. Finally, toss in the broccoli, cover and let simmer for minutes.

The important thing to remember when looking for your dishes is to avoid any processed carbohydrates and sugar. Be extra careful with your sauce selections as very often these can be high in sugar and would not fit in with this plan.
