When most people think of diet food, they tend to think of bland tasting things. Luckily it does not always have to be this way.
The cabbage soup plan is a fairly popular approach in the weight loss world as it promises a quick weight loss over a short period of time. Coupled with the fact that it's a relatively cheap plan to go on since you don't have to buy a lot of special diet food and it appeals to a vast number of individuals.
When going on this program, try and spice up the diet food of cabbage soup so you do not become bored as quickly and then be tempted to cheat. As long as you are not adding a whole lot of additional calories to the soup, there is nothing wrong with trying different things to increase its taste.
A few options may be adding some soy sauce and ginger to give it a more oriental feel or adding a mixture of herbs or spices to suite your own individual preference. You can also add other vegetables than what the recipe calls for, so long as they are low in starch (so potatoes, peas and corn would not be a good choice).
You can also try adding in various soup bouillon or broths, so long as they do not provide a lot of additional calories. Chicken, vegetable and beef will all add slightly different flavours so it would be helpful to experiment and find which one you like the best.
