Traditional American crab cakes hail from the Chesapeake Bay, particularly the state of Maryland. Crab cakes are patties made from the meat mixed with breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onions and seasoning. Typically containing 155 calories per 100g, crab cakes can be either deep fried, or broiled. The broiled version is lower in fat.
