Sports nutrition

Over the past twenty years, sports nutrition has become increasingly recognised as a key element in athletic performance. Training hard and then eating poorly makes as much sense as putting diesel into a Formula 1 racing car!

While sports nutrition varies somewhat depending on the activity, certain key principles apply - all athletes, regardless of their event, need to eat a balanced diet that includes a range of fresh fruit and veg, plenty of lean meat and fish, and quality carbs from whole grain sources.
