Weight gain

While for most people weight gain would be a disaster, for body builders and athletes in sports where strength is an asset, it is frequently a goal. The key here is that any weight gain comes in the form of muscle, not fat.

This type of weight gain can be tricky - too many athletes end up adding extra fat when they are trying to add muscle. The trick is to add enough calories to allow the muscles the fuel they need to grow, without adding so much that there's excess. This will simply be stored as fat.
