South Beach Diet

Since 2003 the South Beach Diet has been one of the most popular weight loss plans on the market. Originally developed to help patients with heart disease who needed to lose weight, the South Beach Diet has proven to be successful with all ages and all types of people.

Based on the GI (Glycemic Index) it aims to improve insulin resistance, and thus promote weight loss. After a very stringent first two weeks, more and more foods are gradually allowed in the plan, with the emphasis on eating good carbs and fat, and avoiding highly processed foods like baked goods and soft drinks.
