Whey protein for improved fitness

One of the most popular sports nutrition products, whey protein, helps a variety of individuals meet their needs. One great thing about whey protein is that it is relatively low calories and contains very few carbohydrates or fats, thus making it a very good option for the dieting individual.

An important thing to note with whey protein products however, are that they are a form of dairy so those who are lactose intolerant or those who are strict vegetarians will likely want to stay away from consuming them. A better option for these people might be to look into the egg white or soy formulas that are available.

Another nice thing about whey protein is that it can be used in a variety of ways. You can make a simple shake with it, adding in whatever foods you desire from fruits, nut butters, yogurts, ice cream, cottage cheese and even raw oats for those looking for a complete meal.

You can also bake it in with your baked goods, including cookies, muffins, cakes, pancakes and waffles.

Finally, consider sprinkling it over any dessert product you make. There are so many flavours available such as chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, caramel, chocolate mint, 'cinnamon bun', mocha, cookies and cream, orange, banana and so on. As long as you are not adding large volumes of it, it shouldn't really change the taste of your dessert all that much but will definitely improve the nutritional quality.
