Massage therapy
For sheer relaxation, massage therapy is hard to beat. But there's much more to it than just being profoundly relaxing. There is a growing body or research which shows that massage therapy can reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, improve blood circulation and lymph flow, and of course relax muscles.
For those recovering from an injury, it can stimulate weak, inactive muscles and help lead to a more complete recovery. It is also popular post-exercise for its ability to relax muscles and improve range of motion.
